Genomic information search and analysis leader adds life sciences industry veteran to leadership team

February 25, 2008 - GenomeQuest, Inc. today announced that it has expanded its leadership team by hiring veteran life sciences industry executive Anthony Salerno as Vice President, Strategic Business Development. Mr. Salerno will be responsible for guiding GenomeQuest’s entry into the next-generation DNA sequencing bioinformatics market, and his duties will include the creation and maintenance of close ties and alliances with leaders in the next-generation sequencing vendor community.

Prior to joining GenomeQuest, Inc., Mr. Salerno was with Agilent Technologies, Inc. in the role of Director, Strategic Business Development. Previous to Agilent, he was a successful entrepreneur with notable accomplishments in technology planning, market development and strategy. Mr. Salerno was Founder, President and CEO of VectorObjects, Managing Director of BioDynamics Associates, Senior Consultant at Vysis, Inc., now part of Abbott Diagnostics, and founding Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Tropix, Inc., now a division of Applied Biosystems, Inc. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross, and studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Harvard University.
